During the first nine months of the fiscal year 2021, the UAE became India’s second-largest export market for electronic goods.
According to India’s Commerce and Industry Ministry, the country’s electronic products exports increased by 49% from April to December 2021 to $11 billion, up from $7.4 billion during the same period previous year, with the United States and the United Arab Emirates being the top two destinations.
According to the Ministry’s data, the top five export nations were the United States (18%), followed by the UAE (16.6%) ($1.83 billion; Dh6.7 billion). China, the Netherlands, and Germany are the other nations, with 7.6 percent, 4.5 percent, and 4.2 percent, respectively.
IT hardware (laptops, tablets), consumer electronics (TV and audio), industrial electronics, car electronics, electronic components, LED lighting, wearables, and telecom equipment are all part of the electronic products industry. Furthermore, mobile phones account for a sizable portion of India’s electronic products exports.
“It’s a proud moment that the UAE ranked second after the United States as India’s top export market with nearly 17 per cent share. I believe India is set to break record highs in the 2021 fiscal year for electronic goods exports,” said Kamal Vachani, regional director of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC).
